Founded by Dale DeBerry over 40 years ago, Progreso Produce had humble beginnings rooted in the growing and selling of onions from the small town of Progreso, TX near the Texas/Mexico border. Over 40 years later the names are still the same. Dale still works in sales, but his son Curtis has purchased the company and oversees management and growing.

Progreso Produce is still about family and onions. Although Progreso, TX is no longer their headquarters, Progreso is still a leader in onions but has carved out leading growing and sourcing positions for Watermelons, Mexican Strawberries, Roma Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Pumpkins and Chili Peppers while continuing to grow their core business in year round onion production.
